Written by Ian Shaw and Joseph Nixon, The Shark is Broken explores the tense and contentious environment surrounding the filming of Steven Spielberg’s iconic blockbuster: Jaws.

Set in 1974, the play follows actors Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss, and Roy Scheider, who are confined to a small boat while the film’s mechanical shark, Bruce, repeatedly malfunctions. As the actors pass the time drinking and bickering on set, their insecurities come bubbling to the surface.
